Dear Colleagues,
Old Dominion University's (ODU) annual open enrollment period is May 2,2022 - May 16, 2022. This is the annual opportunity for employees to add, drop, or make other changes to their benefit elections. Changes made during open enrollment will take effect as of July 1, 2022.
What's New?
We are pleased to announce that beginning May 2nd, ODU employees will be able to make their benefit elections through Cardinal Employee Self Service (ESS). To help aid in this process, The Department of Human Resources is providing ODU employees with the Open Enrollment Through Cardinal ESS job aid, a step-by-step tutorial to make the benefit election process run smoothly. A Link to Cardinal ESS is also provided in the job aid. If you have not registered to use Cardinal yet, you will need your Cardinal Employee ID to do so.

Things to Remember!
If you do not elect benefits before May 16th, your current elections will rollover for the upcoming year, except for flexible spending accounts, which you must re-enroll each year to participate in the plan. When adding dependents to your benefits, supporting documentation will be required to provide proof of eligibility. You can submit these documents by sending an email to benefits@d809.com. See page 9 of the Spotlight newsletter for a list of acceptable documents.
